I am considering buying a discounted 4 days vacation package for Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. I must go to a timeshare presentation to get it at a very cheap price. I was wondering in they want me to bring paycheck stubs or copies of income taxes to prove that I make more than the required amount per year (i.e 50 grand). Or they just take people’s words for it? Thanks.
I am not playing on buying, I really just want to take advantage of the cheap vacation.

I have been given a free week (7 nights) at a timeshare very close to WDW (Marriott Horizons Orlando). By staying there I would then need to pay for daily parking at the parks ($12), food, tickets, etc. I have been trying to estimate how much this will be for the week. I am guessing around $1000 (because the room is free).

OR… with the buy 4 get 3 nights free promotion that they are running, it would be $1300 for the economy hotel, all tickets, all transportation to and from the resort, tickets, etc.

I have a two year old and I am concerned about his schedule. I am a very laid-back mom, but I know my son still needs a nap during the day. He could nap in his stroller, but it may be better for the whole family if we had the option of sleeping in a bed for his nap daily (everybody in the family can use a nap daily while at disney).

What do you think? Is it worth the extra $300 to stay in a worse, smaller room on-property just to have the ease of transportation?

I am so sorry to offend! I have a friend who stayed in one of the economy on-property rooms and she said the room was small and not very nice. I imagine a small cheap motel-type room. Thank you for clarifying that the economy level rooms are nice!

Yesterday,We went to this presentation after we have received several calls about the free gifts.This was our first and worst.when we attend the timeshare presentation, we were treated like dirt by the staff. We were insulted on numerous occasions at the end of the presentation (which for us took roughly 3 1/2 hours) when we refused to buy. We went there with 4 year old kid…he cried that he was hungry.We told to him that we were leaving….But he asked us that why you guys are coming behind me if you are not ready to buy!!!..we are still upset. They conveniently forgot to provide us the gift they promised at the offset, and only after requesting to speak with several parties, did we get our gift.So if any body has an idea about going to this kind of presentation(especially for the free gifts)..please think about it .
